  1. My father Bernard Whelan told me that when storm is near
    1. Sheep always come near the house or keep in a valley.
    2. the goat is another animal which gives signs of storm you can hear her bleating far and near.
    3. The horse when storm is near comes to the warm side of the land, the ass does the same.
    4. When the robbin comes off the top of the branch and goes down to the bottom of the tree is the sign of storm.
    5. When the wagtail comes and walks about the door it's a sign of storm and snow.
    6. When the thrush and blackbird go into the bottom of the hedge it's a sign of storm.
