    The traitor and his family were despised by the people far and near, and they had to clear out of the district and nothing can be seen of their home except weeds. It is said the English Government sent them to Australia where the name followed them, and not a trace of them remains

  2. An aged priest (name unknown) was visiting the parish of Murhaun about Christmas. He came across Slieve-an-Iarainn mountain riding a horse, and in coming the old road through Curlough, he saw the local troop of Yeomen coming in his direction from their barrack in Blackrock
