  1. A Song

My name is Mac an Mara,

My name is Mac an Mara,
I came from the Co. Clare,
That darling little isle across the sea,
Where the hills and the mountains and lakes and drippling rills,
Are singing sweeter music all the day.
    Our farm was small,
It would not support us all,
One of us was forced from home
So I bidded them Good bye,
With a tear upon my eye,
And I sailed all alone for Castlegarden,
    I am an Irish chap,
Of work I am not afraid,
If it is a pleasure to you I will sing or dance
    Or do anything you say,
So if you only name the day
An honest Irish lad will get a chance.
This song was composed by Dave Stack.
