    Bhí seanduine éigin i Sean-a-Cnoch marbh nuair a tháinig an oidhche do bhailig na cómhursainn go léir isteach, agus thosnuigheadar ar an sean cleas d'imirt - ag caitheadh caorthán le na céíle. Bí an fear tíge ina shuide cois na teine ag caitheadh tobhach. Nuair a connaich sé cad a bhí ar siúbhal do thóg sé a phípe as a béal is dubhairt:- "Seadh cuirídh uaibh anois, agus ní cloisim a thuille de an chuid eile don oihdche, agus an céud duine eile a caitheadh caorthadh bhgeidh a malairt de sgeúl aige." - dheru (?) ní raibh an méid sin as a beúl nuair a thóad an bpípe le caortháin is cuireadh as a lámh é agus lánrig (?) istig i lár an teine "A leithéad de phaca dhiabhal" arsa peats
