When tea was used at first they used to drink it black and it was drunk out of noggins. The people used to make cruds and whey from the second beastings of the cow with water added. The people used to eat the potatoes off a canvas bag spread on the floor.

- The people in olden times used to eat only two meals a day. They used to go out working before the first meal. The food they used to eat was potatoes and separated milk and gruel. The people used to sit around in the centre of(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
