  1. There are many cures that the people had in olden times.
    To cure a headache they put out a ribbon on St Brigid's night and if you had a pain in your head any time during the year if you put it around your head it would cure it.
    The cure for a toothache was to chew tobacco.
    The cure for a pain in the ear was hot olive oil.
    The cure for a whitlow was turpentine.
    The cure for warts was to get a spoon of Epsom salts and water and rub it to them.
    A cure for a pain in the back is to hang out suspenders one St Brigid's night and wear them.
    The cure for a stye in the eye was to get a gold ring and blow in through it.
    The cure for boils was sugar and soap. The sugar should be broken into powder and mixed with soap and it put on a little square piece and put on the boils.
    The cure for a burn of boiling water is to get a cabbage leave and put it around the burn.
    This is another cure for a burn. Some people are able to make it. It is. supposed to be made of Laurels and lard.
    The cure for a sting of a nettle is a dock leaf.
    The cure for the thrush is to get a duck and to put a kippen in the mouth of it and put it up to the child's
