- There is a little stream a short distance to the North West of the village of Ardfert. It springs from the ground at the foot of a steep hill called Taighis. In the Penal times a priest was celebrating Mass here one day in the Cromwellian times. Suddenly a large no. of soldiers appeared with blood hounds(continues on next page)
