- One night about 12 o'clock two men were coming from a dancing platform at Grantstown. As they were coming towards Killkeacle on a road called the "Sweep" road and this is how it got its name. In windy weather there does be a great sweep of wind from the North up there. When the men were coming near Kilfeacle tower, they heard the trampling of horses. So they decided to keep in the dyke. A coach came on with no horses drawing it. It passed them out and it was like a fire. It was said that it was seen there after the death of Mr. Scully the Kilfeacle landlord, parish of Kilfeacle, Co. Tipperary.
