  1. The townland in which I live is Ballinabrone. It got its name from a quern. It is in the parish of Killuran. Killuran got its name from a church which was built by St Furan. There is a graveyard now where this church was. The parish of Killuran is divided into a number of town lands namely Killuran More, Killuran Abbey, Guntatrassa, Drummin, Drimeen, Mongeenagh, Pollnucra, and Cappalea. Cappalea in Irish is Capall Fiadh which means wild horse
