- Long ago the people nearly made all the things they used. They never used anything that themselves did not make. They made candles from melted fat. Then they plaited rushes and put them into the fat as wicks.
They spun thread for their clothes. When the thread was spun it was sent to the weaver to weave it. Mostly all the clothes they work were made from the thread and wool.
