  1. Long ago the people had no tea or white bread. Their chief food was barley bread and potatoes. The people sowed big gardens of potatoes and barley and wheat. They spent months sowing them because they had no ploughs.
    They had only three meals in the day, the breakfast, the dinner and the supper. They had the breakfast at ten o'clock. They would work early in the morning. They had porridge and milk for the breakfast. They had no cups then because they had no tea. They had a piece of wood cut out in the center.
