  1. There are fairs held in nearly all the towns of Ireland. In the principal towns they have one or two every month and in the smaller ones they have one fair in the year. there is only one in O.C. Mills and two every year in Broadford, but they are very small fairs now; only a few dozen calves ar sold there. Long ago all the people from miles around came to it. They had music and dancing and all cllasses of games. The farmers have some hardship in bringing the cattle to the fair. They have to get up very early that morning and they have some trouble in getting the cattle out of the field to the road
