    Marriages
    This time of the year is called Shrove. In olden times all the marriages of each year took place at this time. When Xmas was over the matchmaking would start. Marriages were very different to now. It was all feasting. The wedding would last for a day and a night. All friends and neighbors would be invited. The newly married pair would be invited to all the friends’ houses and the feasting would last for a month. After a month the bride
