- Around this locality there are many forts in the townland of Ballyhurst Parish of Tipperary, Co Tipperary. Owned by Mr O Doherty Mr O Ryan up in Mr Kelly's is a beehive cellar and it is said that there is anunderground passage from it to Mr O Ryan's fort where the fairies used to go from one place to another. This passage is under Mr O'Ryan's field and one place it is knocked in. It is the fort of Kilfeacle, Co Tipperary, Neddie Crowe went to cut Kennedy's fort and he lost the used of his legs.

- Throughout the country there are forts some are larger than others. Some have only one circle of raised earth while others have two. They are planted with trees and hawthorn bushes. There are five forts quite near me in Ballyhurst Co Tipperary. In olden times people used to tell strange stories about fairies and what happened people who cut timber or interfered with these anusal places. I know where a house was built the people had to leave it was said it was between two forts. It is now in ruin walls only one part of a wall that has been his way for years.
