- At the back of our house there was an old house which was built of clay and rushes mixed. The fire was in a side wall near the bed room and the chimney was made
of an old churn. There was a bed near the fire which was called a press bed. It was thatched with sallies and straw. The ruins of it are still there. There(continues on next page)
