  1. Portumna
    Portumna Sons have travelled far
    to lands across the sea,
And so we sing a message true wherever they may be.
Their hearts will oft be yearning
    wherever they abide
For home and their loved ones
    Along the Shannon side.
    So all you merry people
who are listening to our song
we hope you will join with us
we will not keep you long.
So help us with our message
and we'll make the rafters ring
Please join us in the chorus
We would like you all to sing.
    Ch.
Portumna, Portumna along the Shannon side.
