  1. The folks around Drumshanbo
    Have peculiar pleasant ways
    I'll try to eulogise them
    While deserving Lyttle prays.
My muses Coyle around my brain
    To aid my mystic flight
So hither call upon a Clarke
To set it down in Black and White
A Jolly group upon the Lee
    What joy their Carroll brings
They never charge a Price or Fee
    To see our Boylan springs
They put Currans in Farrells fine
And bake them Browne and Reid
They never Quail, they wade the Ford
    To Wynne their Daly bread
No idle Twaddle here we have
    Or Cowan at the jumps
Our Friars never wear a Hood
    Our Campells have no humps
