- Cnoc an Breac is the name of a townland near this place. It got its name from a large trout which appeared in a stream that flows through the townland. Long ago, at midnight, this fish was supposed to be seen under a bridge which crosses the stream. Many people came from far places to see this big fish, but it was seldom seen. On one occasion two men waited to see the fish and when he appeared all of the men tried to catch him.(continues on next page)
