They were put up against the wall and shot. Father Codd was in Adamstown at the time and he had to come down. He did his best & implored them not to shoot them but 'twas no good. Father Codd never did any good after that, his nerves all went.
Well he said that after twelve years all the crows would leave the place that in twelve years they wouldn't be a crow in it, and wasn't it true for him. At that time the greatest rookery you ever seen was in it, and there's not a nest in it now. All the crows are gone out of for the past few years.
