- Jack Clery, he lives here in the locality, was telling me that wan day he was ploughing down near the wood there near Pack's Bridge. This raley happened now. He was telling me himself. He was ploughing away and all of a sudden the horses stopped. They warned something coming along. They stood up and cocked up their ears and listened, and look over across the land. After a while Clery looked the way the horses were looking and there he saw the crowd of people coming with red coats on them. They came along to the corner of the wood there, they call it "the Chancery". They came along about a hundred of them, all in single file, and went in there at the Chancery and on the way of the Modgabeg, and disappeared out of his sight. Wasn't that a strange thing to see in the middle of the day. And there wasn't any hunt around the place the same day.
