    first wan he met was a man by the name of Daly. He was a proccess server and he had an ould jennet and car going around. Daly was just pulling out on the street with his jennet and car when Sam happened on him. He told him the whole story how he was caught on the Black Hill. He sat into the car anyway and their two drove off 'til they came to Harpurstown - that would be about twelve miles from the Black Hill.
    When they came to the Cross of Harpurstown they met a fellow there going to work and he strolling along. He was after sleeping it, and he didn't know the time, watches and clocks were scarce in them times. Sam jumped off the car & called him "What time may it by?" says Sam
    "Seven o clock" says this man
    "Are you sure?" says Sam
    "I am", says the man, "for I am going to work and I always go about severn o clock"
    Sam came back home then.
    Anyway Saw was summoned for being poaching on the Black Hill, Ballyvergin
