- You know that weed you'd see growing, they calls it the glúineach. Did you ever notice the red patch in it? That's supposed to be a drop of Our Saviour's Blood When he was in His Passion a drop of His blood fell on this weed.
There's a cure in this weed for many things. People used give it to ducks long ago to cure them of the glúineach - that's a disease the ducks gets. The ould people knew a lot of cures, I often heard me grandmother telling about cures were in different plants, but they're all gone out of me head I put no saim in 'em at that time. - Botha' Piarais (the little hill of botha' Phiarais.) Bothar na h-Oela (na h-iothla' ?). All the fields in Rosster's land have Irish names, Tobar Fiona, an bawn feeara (Fearaí), Cnoc Gaba Ruadh.
