    start a verse of a song and get bet on it and leave it so. Then he'd start another, and get bet on that too. He had a bit of every song. "Oh begob," he'd say "I'm bet on it I'll try another," and he'd keep at that for maybe an hour.
    They were talking wan day about a Xmas dinner, what they'd like and all that. "And what would you like Mike?" says wan of them. "Oh begob," says Mike I'd like a stuffed duck for the dinner."
    "What would you like it stuffed with Mike?"
    "With another wan," says Mike.
    They were talking about the army wan time, and there was some fellow in the crowd who was in 'em for a few years, and he was saying what a fine time they had, the great grub they had and all the rest of it.
    "But sure" says Mike, "If you were shot werent you played the devil with entirely?"
