    Begob I did what he told me; and I was three years in the land court before the thing was settled; and I got the place for £8 a year after that - just half of what I was paying. I pulled up again anyhow, and we cut about 400 faggots out of this place and cut heath and made land out of it.
    Then there was a contract going for the road from Cullenstown to Taghmon and begob I tendered £20 for it & I got it, then I got the Shanoule road and I had £15 for that. I gathered all the stones about the land here, and Mc Cabes of Ballyvergin gave me what stones I wanted out of the quarry. I held that contract for 15 years anyhow, and I never got cut in the money nor a damn hayport.
