   It was an ould custom long ago when any animal would die, a cow or a calf or any animal like that, to cut off a leg and hang it up in the chimney. I would be left there in the chimney for ages and ages. It seems there was something in it, some charm or something. 'Twas done anyway to prevent the rest of the cattle from dying with the same kind of sickness.

   There is supposed to be money buried under a great flat stone down in a place called Farey.
   One night there was a crowd of fellows coming home from a dance that was in Ballymitty, and they were passing by this spot. Begob they went into the field and attacked to root for the money. They were no length digging when they heard the most awful roaring coming on to them
