2. Black Art -The Valentines

   There was a family living in Old Ross called Valentines and they had the Black Art. They used visit a house away across the land from them, and the two of them used stand up on two piers of a gate, wan on each pier and spread out their petticoats and fly across the land to the house they were going to visit.
   People used put up things in the field to frighten crows, an ould stick dressed up like an ould man. Well, these people the Valentines would only stick a bit of a stick in the ground an not a crow would light on the field, and if a neighbour had a field next to them there'd be
