    When Mike was after getting married wan of the fellows was asking him to show him the wife, to bring him over to the house 'til he'd have a look at her.
    "Begob I will" says Mike. So he brought this fellow along with him. And when they came to the house he says you can stand there now and keep your eye on the window there and you'll see her going back on edge in the kitchen."
    He left the lad outside and never asked him in to the house.
    Mike met ould John Sinnot wan day "Well Mike," say Sinnott, anything strange to-day?" "Musha no Mr. Sinnott," says Mike, there is nothing strange only all the gates were open and I coming along the road this morning"
    "And what were they open for," says Sinnott
    Begob I dunno, Sir, if it wasn't to let the win' in to the corn."
    He had great ould sayings, Mike had.
