  1. gate" says Andy. 'Twas brogue nails he had in the gun dont you see.
"I was out of another morning" says Andy "And I met a hare come running against me in the path I had a ball of Cobber's wax in me hand and I fired and stuck it straight in his forehead. The hare made for a gate, and just as he was going out the gate another hare came running the other way. The two of 'em ran again each other and stuck together in the wax." Andy was often telling us that he saw the "bon" (beansidhe) sitting on the big stone below near the bridge and she combing her hair The stone is there near a gate called the Black Gate - 'tis supposed to be haunted.
"A small woman" says Andy "with long yallow hair, and she having a "rack" and she "racking" it."
