  1. Priests had to say Mass in hidden places in Penal Times. Colpy Townland of Carnamoyle, Parish of Muff, Co Donegal, was a great place of Catholic service. Priests said Mass there and also in Drumhaggart. People went there to hear Mass, and hold their overcoats for shelter to keep the candles from blowing out, and a guard of men stood around on high places with dogs and guns, for fear the enemy would come and catch the priest.
