   Blessed Wells in the Parish of Newbawn

   There is a blessed well just near the Druid's Altar called Collop's Well. Then there is Tobar Seeán (Tobar Sheáin) and Tobar hAnnraoi, and Tobar na gCapall, and Tobar na Spay.
   All these ould wells were blest by saints long ago, and there is curses in them.

   There was a fellow wan time and he went to work to a farmer This day anyway, the farmer brought him out to a field where he had piates sown and he told him to get the scuffler and to scuffle the drills. "Well," says the lad, "if I go to scuffle these, I'll tear over drills and all" "How is that?" says the farmer. "Because when ever I go to plough, or go behind a pair of horses I cant ever go crooked" The drills were crooked dont ye see, and he allowed if he went to scuffle that hed have to tear drills and all.
