  1. Once upon a time there was a man who lived in this locality who made his living by selling turf. He worked very hard to supply all his customers. After a fortnights work in the hill he returned home unwashed and unshaven and went to Derry with a load of turf. on returning home he called into a shop in Muff for his goods. After he had got all he thought he wanted, he began thinking if he wanted anything else. There was another man in the shop and this man whispered to the shopkeeper "a fan of shaving soap." With that the other man turned around and said "give me a pound of washing sada and a scrubbing brush."
