  1. Superstition 29-12-37
    There was a custom that on the first of May the people would not rise until dinner time because it was said that the first smoke up would attract the witches who would steal all their milk and butter that year.
    Long ago when a cow would calve the people would get silver and put it into the vessel in which they were going to milk the first milking.
    They believed that women could change themselves into witches and that they would steal the milk from the cow.
