  1. From the earliest years there have beeb men u Ireland famous for their athletic feats and feats of strength.
    The most noted man in our locality was my grandfather the late E.E. Morrissey.
    It was a distinguished runner and held numerous championships for years. He held the half-mile, the mile, the three mile, five mile, and twenty-five mile championship. Some of these were Provincial and some were All-Ireland. He competed with some famous athletes. He won the twenty-five mile race a Carrick on Suir and on that day that famous all-round world athlete, Kiely won his first track event - the boy's race.
