    boys on the town came and they made a laughing stock of them, and the battered skull of their mother. So the two brothers went home and brought their mother with them and they never said a word to each other. When they got home they vowed that they would have revenge on their step-brother. That night they went to their brother's land and they killed all the cattle that he had. Then they went home quite contented with themselves. When Jack woke up in the morning he found all the cattle dead, and he knew well enough who was after doing it but he never let on a mite. He went around to all the neighbours houses and he asked them all to come and take the skin of the cattle that were dead and then take all the meat leaving the skin with him.
