John worked away with the farmer for the three years and when that time was up the farmer told him that he didn't want him any more, and told him he would have to go home to his wife and he paid him whatever money was comin' to him. Then the farmer asked John what way was he travelling home and John said he was going by boat to the Co. Waterford, and then he said he would go the rest of the journey by foot.
