  1. A lime kiln is used for burning lime. A lime kiln is cut out of a clay bank and built round with stones. It is shaped like a barrel it is narrow at the bottom and wide at the centre and it is narrow again at the top. There is an arch at the face where the eye is for the lime to come out.
    Lime stone is not to be found in every district. The people of my district have to cart the lime stone from Finmer or some other place. The lime stone is big when it is quarried and it has to be broken into small stones to be burned. When the lime kiln is going to be filled for burning two small walls have to be built about six inches in height.
