    From his own point of view his life has many pleasant features. He lives in a caravan for which he does not pay rent or rates, the rise or fall of the money markets does not worry him as his stock-in-trade consists of half a dozen assess and a chequered game board which he plies at fairs and races.
    If Charlie O'Brien can find a meal and a smoke regularly and an occasional pint of porter he is happy as a king.
