"hardy". There are two kinds of "hardys" a straight one and a semi-circular one. When the shoe is made it is applied hot to the hoof and this makes an impression. The hoof is then pared with a drawing knife. The shoe is driven and the tops of nails are twisted off. The nails are now clenched and rasped.
