  1. There once lived a family whose names were pursel. They had only one son whose name was Mike. They were very poor. Mikes father was dead and they himself and his mother. They had but one cow and they were obliged to sell her, because the landlord was after serving them for rent. He had to take his cow to the fair, in Cork so he started off to the fair with his cow on on his way. He had to pass a hill. He was over taken by a small little man who Mike never saw before or did not know.
    He said good morning Mr purcel where are you going. O Muire said Mike and he knows me. He took a bottle of his pocket you will take this and exchange it for your cow Mr Pursel. All you have to do is to place it on the table on a clean cloth. Mike went home and when his mother saw him coming
