  1. There are many places in Ireland with which legends are connected. There is no parish that has not its old forts and glens, its rocks and moat.
    Brosna is surrounded by a moat, which is supposed to be an old fortification of some kind. This moat is in the land of Michael O'Sullivan and the chapel is built on top of it. It is supposed to be haunted. Every night a white and black dog is seen there. No one from the village would enter the field after night fall.
