    the family enjoy The dinner is a big affair to make up for the Lenten fast. The children hold a picnic if the day is fine. They make a fire in the open air and roast eggs under the hot coals. They eat them with tea and rice cakes.
    It is the belief of old people that if you wash your hair on Easter Sunday or go barefooted you will not catch cold.
    Easter holidays are looked forward to by school children and business people as the great break up of the long term between Christmas and Summer holidays.
