  1. When St. Patarick lived in Downpatrick, he built a Chapel in it.
    A ghost used to come to him every night. This night the ghost came to him and he was going to kill him, so St. Patrick said some prayers and then he told the ghost to come as far as the Down. When they came to the Down St. Patrick said three latin words. The ghost went like a sail through the Down and split it in two parts, and that is why the sea is coming in between the Chapel and the Down ever since.
