  1. There is a fort in this district which is called baile bhúirce.
    The shape of it is round. People say that in the long ago days, a family or a tribe used to live in forts.
    When people decided to build a house they chose a dry patch of ground, and then dug a big trench or drain around it. They made a very high fence then. They did this so that robbers or wild animals could not harm them.
    The old people used to say that the forts were the homes of the fairies and that anyone passing by a fort at mid-night would be sure to see a fairy or hear some noise.
