  1. Long ago the old people used to make a lot of baskets for hiding all the things they needed. They used to get a lot of rods, and plait them together; then they used to tie ropes around the rods to keep them strong and firm.
    The old men used to make creels with rods for the ass for turning out their turf out of the bog in Summer-time, and creels are used even yet in this district. The old men were great at making baskets and creels and other things also.
    They also used to make mats for the ass straddle with straw, by plaiting the straw.
