  1. The boys long ago in this district used to play a lot of football for past-time. Each village had a team of its own. One village would play against another village.
    In the beginning of Summer the captain of every team used to attend a meeting, and at this meeting they used to choose the parish team. They used to choose fifteen of the men in the village teams and supply them with football shoes and togs and a jersey to each member of the team. Each team had a different coloured "tights" so that the on-lookers
