  1. I live in the parish of Lacken. There are three forges in it. The men who own them are John Scanlon, Michael Collins + Michael Browne. The one John Scanlon owns is situated on the Corrowmore-Lacken road alongside a big river.
    The one that Michael Collins owns is situated in the village of Rathmullán, in the middle of the Parish. The one that Micheal Browne owns is in Forge village in the townland of Kilcummin. Forge village is so-called because there was ever a forge there.
    There is hardly any difference in the forges of the long-ago days and those of the present day. They are the same make
