  1. About 50 years ago, there was a man named Micky Conraghty living over in Kilmeen (1 1/2 miles east of Danes fort school). Micky was a noted hurler and footballer.
    He could hit the ball up in the air, take off his coat and hit it again and then put on his coat. He could do that for seven rounds without letting the ball come to the ground. Good and all as Micky was, my grandfather could beat him. He would hit the ball in this manner for nine rounds.
