  1. Long ago the people were very old before they wore boots. Children go barefoot in the summer, at the present day.
    When we wash our feet at night, it is an old custom not to throw out the water, but to put a coal of fire in it.
    In this district the people repair their own boots, but there are no special shoemakers.
    Long ago the people used to wear elastic boots, and buttoned boots. The elastic boots were worn by old men and women because they were soft and comfortable for them. Rough boots were greatly worn long ago and a lighter pair were kept
