  1. About a hundred years ago men on horseback were hunting a hare with harriers in this district. The hare ran in the directions of a fort and when the hunstmen came up they were in time to see the foremost dog catch the hare by the shoulder. The hare gave out a most human cry and freed itself, and ran into a small hut at the end of the fort.
    The hounds rushed in and set up a most mournful cry. On the huntsmen entering the hut
