  1. Long ago the people had a lot of cures for boils, ringworm, chincough and thrush.
    The seventh son or the seventh daughter has a cure for boils and ringworm.
    Mrs. Fox in Barra is able to cure boils and ringworm, by blowing her breath on it three times after sunset.
    A woman who never saw her father has a cure for thrush. Strong black tea is a cure for sty's in the eyes, and the smoke of a tea package is good for a stye in the eye.
    The soup of a hedgehog is good for chincough.
